Wow! What dammage ice storm's can do to tree's around your house. It's amazing how small specks can continue stacking upon each other until the tree limb's take a bow to the ground, and suddenly they snap under the heaviness of the accumilation of those small specks. Even though it is beautiful and can make the outside look like a winter wonderland, it can also cause thousands of dollars of damage to homes and take out electricity to entire cities.
These storm's can also com in our lives in many forms. The death of a loved one, divorce, finances, tragedies of many sources. I know what it is to have storm's in my life and not know how the damage will be cleaned up, or if it ever can. I also know that I have faith in one of the most amazing people, Jesus Christ. He can cause storm's to cease with just three simple words, "Peace Be Still". Doesn't mean the storm will go away, it just means that He is in charge and at His command, the storm has to do what He says.
In 2007, many storms came to the Williams Family. My husbands heart went out of rhythm for the 7th time, I started having seizers out of the clear blue (which was brought on by stress), my oldest son, Aaron, wrecked his truck and had to put it in the shop. Three days later on April 13th, my youngest son, Joshua, was working on a drilling rig in Conway, Arkansas, and not being told or being aware of my son going back up on the drilling rig, the Driller turned the drill on. Joshua's leg was over the top drive and the drill caught his right leg and tore it off. He bled out at the scene, but was able to get him to the hospital in time to save him. He underwent 6 surgeries to repair the damage that was done, leaving him only 5 inches left of his limb.
Our family pulled together during this storm in our life and faced many storms in the days to come. We know that God was in control of our situation and that He would pull us through. I still had seizers and my husband had his heart shocked again in the middle of all this crisis for the 8th time.
In June, 2008, his heart was shocked for the 9th time. Dr's told us they would never shock him again. He has gone through so much, but still trusts in the one who calm's our storm's.
Joshua walks with a Prosthetic and does wonderful, but the pain is still unbearable at times. As the weather turned bad and changed from sunshine to rain, snow, and ice, so did his pain. It has become almost unbearable.
During the storm, our oldest son, Aaron, lost power in his house at college from the ice storm. When the power line went down behind his house, it also caught the house on fire. Not only did the electricity go out, now he has to find a place to stay. So here is mom, at home and her son is in Talequah, Ok., with no way to get him home by the warm fire, give him some homemade chicken noodle soup, and know he is O.K. Well! I know he is a grown boy, but Mom still wants him to be with her.
As for me and my sweetie, we have work to do when this ice storm is over. Limb's have fallen on our roof and in the back yard. When the storm is over, damage will be done, but we are still alive and well. We can thank our great big wonderful God for His never changing love for His children. We know that "This too (storm) shall pass" and He will KEEP ON MAKIN' A WAY for the Williams family.
Storm's will make us better or bitter. It's up to us how we handle it all.
ya'll have been thru a storm... i would say! but its made you stronger & more beautiful people & family! we love you guys so much!
